Dental Allergology

 

„Dental Allergology“ is taught in the following semester: VII.

Assessment form:

  • Evaluating student's activity and work during practical exercises
  • Preliminary oral examination and tests
  • Semester examination

Teaching methods: Lecture, seminar, discussion, cases' solution, practical exercises, multimedia presentations.

ANNOTATION:
Dental allergology as a new dental speciality is a result of the increasing prevalence of allergic reactions and diseases caused by the use of dental materials and drugs. Dental allergology deals with prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients having allergic diseases affecting the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.  

AIMS:
The training course in Dental allergology allows for a diagnosis of all odontogenic and stomatogenic disturbance fields. Dental allergology provides knowledge about the causes, severity, course and outcome of hypersensitivity to certain (specific) allergens. It is the basis of the differential diagnostic process, the correct diagnosis and therapy.

TASKS:
This discipline includes the diagnosis and planning of treatment of diseases associated with allergic diseases affecting the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.
