The new academic year for students of dental medicine was officially opened with a solemn ceremony, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirela Marinova – Vice Dean of Students’ Affairs.
 

In his welcome address, the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Prof. Dr. Boyko Bonev, congratulated 128 Bulgarian students on their successful admission to the oldest and most prestigious higher education institution in dental medicine in Bulgaria. He emphasized that this is their well-deserved victory in choosing a profession “that requires not only knowledge, but also dedication, ethics, and empathy.”

On behalf of the Rector of the university, Prof. Boycho Landzov and the academic leadership, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Elitsa Deliverska welcomed the newly admitted students, assuring them that they will gain the knowledge and skills that will make them not only good professionals but also good people.

The President of the Bulgarian Dental Student Association, Antonina Dimova, also addressed the first-year students, highlighting that they are embarking on a new path which will be challenging, but with the support of their teachers and the association, it will be successfully accomplished together.

Traditionally, students with highest marks from the entrance examinations were also awarded – Ana Pashova with the maximum score of 42 points and Angel Angelov with 41.89 points.

At the end of the ceremony the course leader Prof. Deliverska together with the deputy course leader Dr. Boryana Ilieva gave the student’s books to all the newly admitted freshmen.
