From March 24 to March 28, associate professor Dr. Elitsa Deliverka, Vice-Rector for Distance Learning and Continuing Education at the Medical University – Sofia, and Associate Professor Dr. Mirela Takorova, Vice Dean for Students’ Affairs at the Faculty of Dental Medicine Medical University - Sofia, visited Tbilisi, Georgia, as part of the Erasmus program. They held meetings with colleagues from the European University – Tbilisi. During the visit, the Bulgarian professors gave lectures to dental medicine students. Assoc. prof. Deliverka covered the topic “Fundamental Concepts in Dental Implantology,” while assoc. prof. Takorova discussed “The Use of Magnification Systems in Dental Practice.” The Bulgarian representatives also explored the opportunities for expanding the educational cooperation and participation in future joint projects with their Georgian colleagues.

During their visit, the delegation from the Medical University – Sofia also visited the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tbilisi. Together with ambassador Veselin Valkanov, they discussed the advantages of studying in Bulgaria, the existing programs for international students at the MU-Sofia, and the interest of Georgian students in studying in Bulgaria. The embassy welcomed the expansion of cooperation in education and scientific research between universities in Bulgaria and Georgia and expressed its willingness to support the enrichment of the contacts and the practical collaborations of mutual interest for Bulgarian and Georgian educational and scientific institutions.
