Lecture of prof. Nitsan Bichacho, PhD
April 14, 2025
DEAR STUDENTS,
On April 24, 2025 г. in V Auditorium from 13.30 tо 16.00, Prof. Nitsan Bichacho, PhD, will present a lecture on „Managing the Cervical Interfaces of indirect restorations at the smile zone. 40 years - What did we learn?“
Abstract of the lecture:
To achieve a visually pleasing outcome with indirect restorations in the smile zone, it is crucial for the dental practitioner to consider not only the choice of restoration material, abutment type, and color but also the integration of the entire restorative structure (whether natural teeth, pontics, or implants) with the surrounding tissue.
It is imperative to meticulously plan each phase of the periodontal and restorative treatment in advance to achieve a seamless, natural appearance. By selecting the most appropriate treatment for each site, the combined abutment-crown assemblies should harmonize with one another, as well as with neighboring dentition and a healthy periodontium.
Cutting-edge techniques for addressing esthetically challenging dental and implant restorations will be presented, incorporating a range of laboratory and clinical restorative methodologies along with various tissue management approaches .
The presentation will delve into the concepts of Model-Based cervical Design and Cervical Contouring, examining their application in diverse treatments.
Learning Objectives:
• Develop an understanding of how the contour of cervical restorations influences the position and shape of the surrounding soft tissues .
• Explore the benefits of model-based planning and the significance of cervical contouring in achieving natural-looking results in both natural abutments and implant-supported restorations .
• Understand the limits of recontouring the cervical profile of teeth and implants restorations.
