The Faculty of Dental Medicine started the implementation of the "DENTA_SOFT project - Exploring, Assessing and Applying SOFT skills in DENTAl University students".
 

For the first time Medical University - Sofia is a lead partner in the Sector "Cooperation partnerships in higher education (KA220-HED)". The other consortium partners are three European universities: University of Oviedo - Spain, University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Grigore T. Popa" - Bucharest, Romania and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki - Greece.
 

The planned joint project activities are: conducting a study on the behavioral sciences teaching regarding soft skills, drafting a comparative analysis on the curricula of the four dental faculties, conducting a study on the perceptions and attitudes of patients related to the soft skills identified in the process of communication between patients and dental medicine doctors. Survey on a patients’ satisfaction related to the interaction with students in the upper courses, trainings in different modules on the development of soft skills for both teachers and students, a manual with good practices and a mobile application are among the other project activities, defined in several work packages.
 

The project team is headed by Prof. Bozhidar Yordanov and coordinator Assoc Prof. Todor Uzunov. The experts who will work within the DENTA_SOFT project are Prof. Boyko Bonev, Dr. Ivanka Mihailova, Dr. Nadia Avramova from the Department of Dental Public Health, and Prof. Mariana Dimova from the Department of Prosthetic Dental Medicine.
 

The total budget of the project is 250,000 euro.
