In the department of Periodontology, students are taught in one discipline - Periodontology.
The course in Periodontology provides knowledge and competencies for accurate diagnosis, prophylaxis, treatment, and control of periodontal diseases - anatomy of the periodontal structures, periodontal instruments and their use, diagnostic methods in periodontology, clinical prophylaxis, treatment of gingivitis and diagnosing periodontally compromised patients, cause-related therapy, controlling the etiological factors for inflammatory destructive diseases of the periodontium.
The course is taught in four semesters - VII, VIII, IX and X, and includes 75 hours of lectures and 135 hours of practical exercises.
