In the Department of Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, students are taught in three disciplines - "Preclinics of Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery" and "Clinics of Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery".
1. The course in "Preclinics of Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery" provides theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the implementation of modern aseptic and antiseptic concepts; modern anesthetic agents in the dental practice; analgesic techniques in the oral cavity; teeth extraction methods; adequate management of complications.
The course is taught in two semesters - V and VI and includes 60 hours of lectures and 120 hours of practical exercises.
2. The course in "Clinics of Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery" provides theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for an ambulatory dental practice - patient examination, administration of anesthesia and teeth extraction, as well as diagnostics of surgical diseases in the oral and maxillofacial area.
The course is taught in four semesters - VII, VIII, IX and X, and includes 60 hours of lectures and 270 hours of practical exercises.
